Meet Theo! Theo is a 2 yr old, 12 lb. male Poodle Mix, found abandoned and severely matted. The day we brought him home from the shelter, he began showing signs of caval syndrome and had to be rushed to the ER for surgery to remove some of the heartworms to relieve the pressure on his heart. He is doing much better but still needs to be treated for the heartworms by immiticide injections. He still has a few months of recovery but we are hopeful he will fully recover and live a long life filled with unconditonal love. Sheila is a 3 yr old 45 lb female Great Pyrenees, spayed, microchipped, up-to-date on vaccines and recently treated for heartworms. She was found stray and brought into our rescue in Mar 2021. She tested positive for heartworms and was started on antibiotics and Advantage Multi but we soon realized she was very sick. She was rushed to the ER where she was determined to be in caval syndrome. Surgery was immediately performed to pull the heartworms out, one by one, as many as they possibly could, to relieve the pressure on her heart. She is doing much better now and has actually completed immiticide treatment to eradicate the remaining heartworms. She is 3 yrs old, 45 lbs., spayed, microchipped, and up-to-date on vaccines. Sheila is sweet and lovable but is also dominant and will need to be the only female dog in the home and breed experience will be preferred. Molly Beth is another sweet senior, owner surrendered at out local open intake shelter.
