MCHS is a nonprofit organization located minutes from Auburn/Opelika as well as Tuskegee University.. We strive to improve the lives of homeless pets in the Macon County area.

Each year in the United States, millions of companion animals enter animal shelters and sadly, never leave with the loving family they deserve. In fact, according to the Humane Society of the United States, in order to solve the animal overpopulation crisis, it is estimated that each man, woman and child would have to provide care for no less than seven animals. In Macon County, Alabama each year, thousands of animals are euthanized simply because they did not have a home.

We hope that one day, there will be a community for animals where they are no longer homeless but sheltered, where animals are no longer starving but fed and well cared for, where no animal will ever be a victim of intentional abuse, and where unintentional neglect is resolved through education. We invite you to join us in this effort!
