Gladys got her 1 month recheck X rays today! It was GREAT NEWS! The spot on her lungs is still there, but it has not grown. This means that she does not have an aggressive fast growing cancer/lymphoma. They do recommend repeating the X rays again in 2-3 months to be completely safe as we still don’t know what the spot is, but her prognosis is looking pretty good right now! The vet sent us photos of her on the X Ray table and we think it’s pretty funny (see the second photo).
Gladys is almost ready to start looking for her forever home after 8 years of suffering on the street and being shot at. She is already starting to look much healthier! Please keep her in your prayers and if you know anyone looking for a senior siamese who has been through hell and back, please send them our way. ❤️ Gladys will need a very patient and loving home when she is ready.

Cherry finds herself at 14 years old abandoned and without a family. She is desperately trying to find another one - she even got dressed up so someone would finally notice her! No one has EVER asked about taking this sweet girl home since we got her earlier this year. Imagine getting older, reaching your golden years, and suddenly being thrown out sick and scared. That’s where Cherry found herself this year when she was almost euthanized at the shelter. 💔 Her family had never ACTUALLY cared about her, which was shown by the fact that they dumped her to die with pancreatitis, bad teeth, and a bad cold. The reason they dumped her was because they “didnt have time for her.” It took lots of vet visits and TLC, but she has gained weight and is in amazing health for her age now.
Cherry is an independent girl who doesn’t mind older/calmer cats. All she wants after her hard life is to be around her person and peacefully sleep on a comfy bed. She gets excited when you come home, as she does get attached to her person! Occasionally she comes up to cuddle on the bed for a little bit for some petting until she decides it’s time to go do her own thing again. She would be perfect for someone who wants a cat companion who isn't very clingy. If you have a quiet comfy home and a big heart, Cherry is your girl.
The reason Cherry had the fight to get through all her health obstacles is because she wanted to live. She wanted to live to be able to find another family that ACTUALLY wanted her. Let’s show her that she fought for a reason. Let’s get Cherry a home. Currently located in Orlando FL. ❤️

Does everyone remember Bruno? Bruno came into our local shelter a few months ago with eyelid agenesis, where he was born without upper eyelids. Because of this the fur above his eyes can reach and rub on his eyes, causing painful ulcers. The only solution to this is to freeze the hair off above his eyes. This can unfortunately take 2-3 surgeries, and the first surgery did not work completely.
This sweet funny looking boy is hoping that this surgery is the last one he will need so he can finally live a pain free life. We scheduled the surgery for as soon as possible, which is tomorrow! The surgery will cost about 700 dollars and we need to FUNDRAISE THIS BEFORE TOMORROW!! Say hello to some of the newest United Paws residents! Both had to be out of the building by next week or they would have been euthanized. They are both seniors with big medical needs and we could use some financial help, especially since we have 7 other cats going into the vet this week already for rechecks and basic vetting.
First we have Dylan, he is 8 years old and came into the shelter as a stray with a big wound on his head. He got sick while he was there and has been unable to kick the cold ever since. On top of that, he’s got bad teeth! He needed out ASAP. He’s going to need a full senior bloodwork panel along with a dental and possible extractions. He is a very sweet boy despite all he’s going through.
Then we have Cherry, she is a whopping 14 years old and was abandoned due to the owner having “no time for her”. She has scarring on her ears, bad teeth, and also had a cold she hasn’t been able to kick. She’s going to need a full senior bloodwork panel, a dental with possible extractions, along with whatever else she may need being in such bad condition. She is very sweet as well and already purring and running circles around her foster mom!

There is a 13 year old senior at the shelter with muscle wasting and dental disease in urgent need of help.
There are 5 cats terrified at the shelter and at risk of euthanasia.

Say hello to some of the newest United Paws residents! Both had to be out of the building by next week or they would have been euthanized. Our shelter (Orange County Animal Services in Orlando, FL) is overflowing with terrified and sick cats. They’re not all going to make it out safe and alive without fosters stepping up. Our foster homes are overflowing and we can’t continue to help more cats without new fosters. There are scared owner surrenders, a cat with an ear polyp, four kittens who need some socialization help (these are from the streets, not the shelter), and a kitty with a broken jaw who is up front for adoption. We are constantly inundated with requests to help cats. We have an extremely small amount of fosters and they are all overloaded. There are tons of sweet cats in danger on the streets in need of fosters and tons of scared cats at the shelter at major risk of euthanasia. Scared owner surrenders, kittens needing socialization, etc.

I came from an outdoor situation where a kind woman thought I’d be better off with my own family. My foster mom thinks I’m a great cat. I get along great with the other cats and I would probably do ok with dogs if introduced slowly. I come running when I hear the treats shake and I love attention! If you rub my head and my butt, I’ll make biscuits for you and I am especially fond of rubs from my cat bed. I’m not very loud and I don’t talk a lot but I’ll meow some and I do love people and animals. I am a very sweet cat. Am I the one for you?
