Humane Society of Southwestern Michigan

The Humane Society of Southwest Michigan is a 501-C3 non-profit organization. We do not receive funding from any government agencies and rely solely on donations from the community.

Humane Society of Southwestern Michigan exists to provide shelter and care for sick, homeless, abused and unwanted animals, with utmost importance on adoption services for the animals in our care.

To help us obtain this goal, we have the following in place:

•To inform and educate the public about the responsibilities of caring for a companion animal.

•To work with groups and individuals to bring about a better understanding and appreciation for both animal and human life.

•To promote the many benefits and rewards of pet ownership.

•To promote and support humane animal education.

•To provide humane care to all animals that are entrusted to the shelter's care.

•To administer and regulate policies that facilitate pet adoption, including cooperation with other rescue groups.

•To promote spray/neuter assistance programs in our community in an effort to reduce the number of unwanted animals in our community.
