Free Roaming Feline Program

No-kill feline rescue all volunteer group in Manitowoc County Wisconsin, 501(c)(3) non-profit, fostering and adopting both feral and friendly felines

Our Mission:
-Help and assist stray and feral felines in need
-Reduce the abuse and neglect of homeless felines through TNR, or rehabilitation and adoption
-To do all in our power to assure the humane treatment of felines
-To care for our Roamers medically, spay/neuter and rehabilitate them and place them in caring foster homes until they are adopted, no matter how long it takes
-Work to end the killing of healthy pets in our nation's shelters.

We are an all-volunteer organization whose goal it is to help and assist both stray and feral felines, which we affectionately refer to as "Roamers". We are a no-kill feline rescue program. We are not a shelter, but work with foster homes to temporarily love and care for cats and kittens in the program until we can find them their forever homes. We work out of the Manitowoc and Two Rivers area, but are not restricted geographically and try to assist felines in need, wherever they might be.

We take both "feral" and stray cats into our program, and allow the foster homes to determine if the cat is truly feral, or just scared. Truly feral cats are found good outdoor homes and caregivers that will care for them while allowing them the freedom of a wild feline.
We started the Free Roaming Feline Program in August 2008 because of the needlessly high euthanasia rate of healthy feral and stray cats and kittens at the local Humane Society. Our program was started with $112.

In 2010 we were approved as a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization so now we are independent of any larger group. We feel we are better able to serve our Roamers in this way.

Since the inception of our program we have been fortunate to work with two area veterinary clinics who have wonderful, talented doctors, dedicated staff and a commitment to helping our Roamers--Dr. Katz at the Two Rivers Veterinary Clinic and Dr. Madden-Heinzen at Port cities Animal Hospital. Without these extremely supportive clincs and their staff our program could not exist.

By the end of 2013, the Roamer progam has sterilized, vaccinated and relocated or rehomed over 2,000 area felines, about 500 cats and kittens per year. Our foster homes take good care of the Roamers, but space is limited. Remember...when you adopt a Roamer you are helping TWO felines. The Roamer who you are adopting and another area feline who is waiting to come into the program. Please check out our "Available for Adoption" page to see photos and biographies of indoor and outdoor cats needing homes.
