Community Cat Carers: rescue, rehabilitate and rehome where possible

Streetcat advocacy group with a no-kill policy and non-profit expectations.

We are a loose-knit group of residents concerned with the ever growing streetcat population.

Never forget this is a manmade problem.

Working in inner South & West Sydney, we try our best to help them in the places we can reach. All colony cats are desexed & observed for medical ailments.

We always need volunteers - are you interested in helping to:

Feed cats
Foster cats
Socialise cats
Adopt cats
Donate to our cause

We value teamwork & partnership, community engagement, fairness & participation.

MORE ABOUT US
Community Cat Carers Inc. achieved charity status in November 2012.

We are a donation-funded, animal-welfare charity based in Sydney’s Inner West.

Our objective is to reduce the overpopulation (& improve the welfare) of street cats Sydney-wide.

NO MORE STREET KITTENS.

Working in alliance with community groups and willing to work with Councils, Community Cat Carers provides food & medical attention to multiple colonies.
We employ a capture-desex-rehome protocol for felines, and obviously strive to rehome as many of these cats as possible.

DESEX YOUR CAT
It is strongly recommended that your cat be desexed before it reaches sexual maturity, which can be as early as four months of age. Traditionally, cats were desexed between six & nine months of age. However, by five months of age, female cats can become pregnant and males may begin to display aggression and spray urine.

‘Early-age desexing’, refers to the desexing of kittens between two to three months of age, and is endorsed by RSPCA Australia. It is practised by most large Australian animal shelters and an increasing number of veterinarians.
