This is Tommy and this is Tommy’s story.
♥️We are thrilled to announce that Tommy has officially gone home to his furever home! 🎉👏

This boy defines courage, strength, trust and resilience. We don’t know exact details about what Tommy had to go through prior to his rescue, but what is certain is that it was a life of hell.

Exactly 2 months ago we were called to rescue a dog that was in bad shape. Our team of vets believe that Tommy was used as a “suspension” bait dog. 💔Tommy had hundreds of wounds all over his front and back legs. There was a huge gash with exposed bone on his elbow. The bones in his paw were completely exposed and beyond infected. Much of both Tommy’s ears were missing while the rest of his ears were mutilated beyond belief. Any stitches and surgery would have had to wait due to the amount of infectious wounds and we had to battle the threat of him becoming septic. His eyes expressed defeat, hopelessness, sadness and complete loss.

Tommy cowered upon human touch. He was very submissive & shy, but no aggression at all. He allowed our transporters and vets to handle him. We think he knew he was safe♥️ Humans had really done a number on this beautiful boy. In Tommy’s eyes, we also saw the will to live and we felt it in his gentle energy. This boy would be a survivor.

💕Needless to say, the vets ER and @chai.holistic.vet all fell in love with Tommy. As did his medical foster, @megant010 and – soon enough - his furever momma @tommylooshellyrosietoo . Before she even met Tommy, Shelly knew this was her boy. 💕

🏡 Now Tommy has a big yard, a wonderful momma and even a canine 🐶 sister, Rosie. Tommy never leaves Rosie’s side.

This is Tommy’s story, yet this story will not define him. Tommy is a true testament of strength 💪, courage, trust and love. Tommy can teach us all a thing or two. Above evil, there is love. And love conquers all. ♥️

Poor little guy lost his foster before he even left the vet 😞 We committed to rescue Chief and now we need another FOSTER ASAP!!

Chief was rescued from a hoarding situation where he was living in deplorable conditions. 💔

He is heartworm positive and he has kennel cough. 😞 His skin isn’t great but all of the above is or will be treated. Thankfully, his bloodwork came back normal!

♥️Chief is estimated about 10 years old, 12 pounds. He is very sweet and good with other dogs!

🙏🏼Can anyone step up to foster this sweet boy? He deserves love and a warm home!

🚨💔Late last night, we were called to rescue what was described as a horrifically abused puppy who was in distress when Police arrived on the scene in S Atlanta.

We agreed to rescue the 10week old puppy and named her “Holland” after the wonderful police officer who went above and beyond to make sure this innocent puppy had a chance. 💙
 
Holland was tortured and badly injured by humans. 😡We are disturbed and disgusted at some of what we heard from the Police Officer may have happened, given their talking to witnesses. 🤬💔
 
We worked super-fast to get Holland to our ER vet. 🚨Holland was in bad shape upon arrival.  She was triaged, and although her blood levels were a bit off, she was having siezures + muscle tremors.  Her pupils did not align, but were reactive to light.

Through the night Holland never stabilized relative to her seizures and muscle tremors, even with increasing levels of medicines. Her eyes became non-responsive to light.  💔

The Vet confirms Holland sustained detrimental head trauma.  Her cranial damage was too much, causing issues with her central nervous system.

In the early morning hours, along with the Vet’s recommendation, we made the heartbreaking decision to humanely euthanize Holland.  🌈Holland was not alone crossing the Rainbow Bridge. 🐾🌥Our Founder got on a FaceTime call with the vet staff and prayed over Holland as she passed.  Holland was finally at peace – no more seizures; no more tremors.  Little Holland is free to fly with her puppy angel wings. 👼

We are in contact with the Police Dept who are conducting more interviews today.  We will work with them to prosecute all person(s) who participated in torturing and killing Holland to fullest extent of the law.

We incurred over $1,500 in vet bills for Little Holland trying to save her.  In memory of Holland, please consider donating to offset her medical bills

Sophie Update –
 
The Good Newz: Sophie was transferred this a.m. from the ER vet clinic to our surgeon to have her jaw surgery.   Over the weekend, her liver and spleen levels acclimated to more normal levels, and her fever came down.  This is exactly what we needed for her to be able to have her  life-saving surgery where she will be under anesthesia for 3-4hrs.
 
More Good Newz, but with heartbreak.  It is rare that we have the opportunity to reunite wonderful dogs with wonderful owners.  We found Sophie’s owner.  Sophie’s real name is Blue.

Blue’s Mom is beyond grateful for our taking Sophie/Blue into rescue and saving her life.  Understandably, she is very distraught, horrified, and cannot believe how this happened to her baby.  She is an amazing pet parent and was reunited w/Sophie/Blue this weekend at the ER clinic where she sat, cried and held sweet Blue, along with her 5yr old son who adores Blue.

Along w/Blue’s owners, we are working to piece together what happened to Blue that sustained life-threatening injuries after being thrown from a car.  For context, one of Blue’s dog-walkers “claims” Blue got away on their walk. Blue’s Mom believes she was then taken by someone, given how friendly she is.  Blue’s owner is very emotional and incredibly grateful to us and our community who saved Blue’s life.  Blue would have died from infection from her injuries had she not received immediate medical attention, and now her life-saving surgery.

As we posted before, Sophie/Blue’s medical bills are in excess of $6,500.  Blue’s Momma is a single Mom working hard to provide for son and her fur baby.  She is unable to pay these high medical bills, but is going to do everything she can to pay our rescue back what she can.  She has already started a GFM, but we don’t know exactly how much Blue’s Mom will be able to payback.

We committed to save Sophie/Blue.  We will fulfill that commitment to save her life, getting her now the life-saving jaw surgery she needs.

🚨 💔PLEASE HELP this is breaking our hearts!!!! The pregnant mamma who we were trying to rescue gave birth in the shelter …. 💔💔

She has 10 newborn puppies!! She had 15!!! Two were stillborn and three died from likely being crushed by mom (not on purpose!)

💔You can hear how loud the shelter is. And you can see it in her eyes that she wants out for her babies!!! This loud shelter is NOT the atmosphere for a new mamma and newborns!!! Can anyone take them in?!?!

The babies will be fairly self sufficient (for now) with mom. 💞Leddie, as she is named in the shelter, is VERY CALM, very quiet, she wags her tail when humans approach 🥰, she does NOT get at all defensive when someone handles her babies, and she is fine being pet while eating near her babies. She’s an angel!

‼️URGENT FOSTER NEEDED FOR 10 YO CHIHUAHUA MIX ‼️

We were just approached to rescue this older fella from the shelter. Chief is 10 years old and weighs 12 pounds.

Unfortunately he isn't doing well. He has heart worms and kennel cough. 💔 Poor guy was part of a neglect and hoarding case living in absolutely deplorable conditions. 😡 He has a phenomenal temperament for what he's been through and can be easily handled. We also know he's good with other dogs. 😊
