Candy is lost in Delta! From Fairbanks, her family stopped at the rest stop near the forestry office/airstrip and Candy bolted. Candy is extremely shy and may not come to you if called, but please if you see her contact us immediately! Candy is friendly and will play with other dogs.
Goodwin is available! He’s looking for his forever home. Goodwin is an intact male, maybe 5-6 years old. He would make for a great companion to an individual or family. He’s a house dog and he loves to cuddle up.
He’s a rescue from an abandonment situation and has been with our family and kennel in rehabilitation for several months. When he first arrived, he was very head shy, would bark at the sight of men and was slow to trust adults in general. Left outside, he’ll bark day & night. Goodwin loves children and was very sweet and gentle with our girls (5 & 10) from the start. He would do best in an active home (going out for walks a few times a day) where he doesn’t have to be tied out or kenneled for long periods of time. He is not good with small breed dogs and I wouldn’t trust him with a cat without time & training. Please call to arrange a time to meet Goodwin. 907-388-6039

Say hello to Bojack! Bo has a rare genetic disorder called Imerslund-gräsbeck syndrome. He gets weekly cobalamine (Vitamin B12) injections since he cannot properly digest it, without which can lead to anemia, lethargy, unconsciousness, vomiting, and seizures.
Bojack is 2 years old and very friendly with children, cats, other dogs... all around a very gentle soul. He has had his rabies vaccination. He is unaltered because he needs blood work to determine if he can safely undergo surgery. He is not dominant at all and has had other dogs attack him without fighting back. He's potty trained and pretty laid back for a border collie.
When I first got Bo, he ran off and got lost for two days with an acquaintance's dog. Bo returned while the other did not. Since then, he has had a very clear understanding of guns and gunshots. He tries to hide behind solid objects, has a lot of nightmares, and can be very needy.
Once he got on medication, his appetite skyrocketed. Bo would do well with a slow-feeder. He doesn't like to chew his food if he can gobble it down. He gets really sick if he's fed food that is too rich for him, like cooked meat, freeze-dried raw, or soft food. He may have a mild allergy to poultry, but unsure about that. He does better with seafood-based kibble and is currently eating NutriSource with his food soaked in water so that it's more of a mush before giving it to him. He doesn't get meat as treats unless it's fish in very small quantities because he'll throw up and can become lethargic. He does, however, love raw vegetable scraps, eggs, and CBD treats.
He knows some basic commands (sit, lay down, wait, stay, go place, leave it, gentle, load up/get in). He also does well in cars. Bojack needs a compassionate, attentive, and understanding home. He would probably do well as a lazy farm dog or in a home with children to give him lots of attention (but not too young, he tries to jump to give hugs). I live in Talkeetna now but could commute to bring him to where he needs to be. Please contact me by message for more information.
